Pallet Deliveries

There are a few things you should do in preparation for us coming to collect your pallets.
Most importantly, you need to make sure your pallets are big enough to fit all your items and sturdy enough to support them.

It’s best to arrange your goods by size, putting heavier boxes at the bottom with smaller, more lightweight items stacked on top, making sure that they’re secure.

You should also try to stack your items in columns, as this is the best way to ensure that weight is evenly distributed across your pallet, and don’t let any of your items hang over the edge of your pallet. This way, you can be sure that all of your goods will be safe and will arrive at their destination in one piece.

Strapping items into your pallet and wrapping everything a couple of times, with bubble or shrink wrap,  for example, will not only help to keep everything together but prevent damage during shipment.

Pallet delivery is a fairly straightforward process.

Simply load and secure goods onto pallets, get in touch with a pallet transport firm – like us – and arrange for your goods to be collected. Your pallets will then be taken to the nearest distribution hub.

From here, the transport team at the hub will plan and coordinate routes for drivers, efficiently loading pallets onto trucks to ensure items reach their destination as quickly as possible.

As soon as your items arrive, they’ll be unloaded, scanned, quality checked, and then sent away to the closest depot to delivery points.

Once your goods arrive at their respective depots, delivery will be arranged and you’ll be given an ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival).

As of January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the European Union, which means the way pallets are moved between the two zones has changed.

Now, you’ll have to accurately declare additional information on all your palletised goods moving between Britain and the EU, ensuring everything is compliant with the new customs regulations.

The vast majority of shipments from the UK heading into EU territory will now be subject to customs approval, so deliveries may take a little longer due to additional border checks, but they will go ahead no matter what – just so long as long as you’ve completed all the necessary paperwork.

You’ll need several key pieces of information, including:

• A registered EORI number
• Commodity codes
• Export licences (for goods that require them)

When it comes to choosing a pallet to ship your goods, there are some things that you need to consider, including:

• Size

If your pallet is too big or too small to accommodate all of your items, they will likely get damaged during transport. So, choosing an appropriately sized pallet is super important when ensuring your goods make it from A to B in one piece.

• Type

You’ll be able to choose from three different pallet types when you work with us. These include quarter pallets, half pallets and full pallets.

• Load capacity

Of course, a larger pallet can be loaded more heavily than a smaller pallet can. Our quarter pallets can hold a maximum of 250kg, half pallets can accommodate up to 500kg, and full pallets can hold 1,500kg.

• Material

Wooden pallets are generally used for transport, as they tend to be the strongest and most protective. They can handle the heaviest of consignments and are also relatively cheap to source.

Wooden pallets are extremely affordable.

To buy new, you can expect to pay around £3.90-£15.90, and around £4.50-£10.90 for used wooden pallets.
