TPN is investing in excess of £10m in a new Hub facility near Sutton Coldfield, within five miles of 11 motorway junctions.
The warehouse, at Prologis Park Midpoint in Minworth, sits on a 13-acre site and offer TPN 301,000 sq ft of warehousing space with offices of 12,500 sq ft.
The facility will be a drive-through operation with 24 vehicle loading/unloading pods initially, although the site can be extended by an additional eight pods as business demands. The warehouse will have a capacity to move in excess of 12,000 pallets a day so has plenty of space for growth.
TPN has agreed terms for a five-year lease commencing 4 January 2013. TPN MD Adam Leonard says: “There is a considerable amount of work being done on the site in order to bring it up to the standard required by TPN and we are confident that we shall commence operations on the 4th.
“The new site is half as big again as the current facility at Rugby and the move comes at the right time as the UK appears to be about to climb out of recession,” he adds.
